Context & Challenge

Hotelix is a TravelTech MVP designed to make hotel booking more flexible.
User research and competitive analysis revealed that users struggled with rigid booking flows:

  • Had to select exact travel dates before exploring hotels.

  • Couldn't easily compare prices across different dates.

  • When no hotels were available, most services offered no alternatives, forcing users to restart their search.

Solution

To address these issues, I designed two core features:

  • Flexible Date Explorer

Introduced a color-coded view that allows users to compare destination prices across different months before selecting exact travel dates.

  • Hotel Price Calendar

Designed a calendar that displays hotel availability and prices across different dates, allowing users to quickly compare options before booking.

Outcome

Created an end-to-end hotel booking MVP covering the complete booking journey.

  • Enabled users to compare hotel prices across different dates before booking.

  • Reduced the need to repeatedly change travel dates while searching for suitable options.

  • Built a scalable design system with 60+ reusable components and 246 screens.
